Loring Story
In 1968, Sam Loring rented a small corner of a warehouse in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia, PA. There he introduced the first 5k-style gutter machine that ran painted seamless gutter to the five county areas. Prior to this only mill-finish aluminum in pieces was available. When builders and contractors realized the advantages of painted seamless gutter, the product took off.
Sam’s nephew Bruce Denenberg joined him in 1969 and in 1972 they moved to their current location in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. They purchased an old vaudeville/movie theater complete with a curtain, movie screen and stage sets.
Never imagining that they would fill the space with inventory but the neighborhood contractors started requesting various products. Today the space is packed with half-round and k-style gutter and accessories, roofing material for flat and pitched roofs, vinyl siding, skylights and windows plus assorted accessories.
Terri Loring, Sam’s daughter, joined the company in 1977. When Sam passed away suddenly, Terri filled his shoes. Today she and Bruce run Loring Building Products with the motto, “None of us have a job without our customers.”
